About Spurs Sports & Entertainment

Spurs Sports & Entertainment is the premier provider of sports and entertainment in South Texas. SS&E owns and operates the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), Austin Spurs (NBA Development League), San Antonio FC (USL), and also manages the day-to-day operations of the AT&T Center and Spurs Give, a 501c3 public charity. [SH1] With a staff of more than 250 employees, Spurs Sports & Entertainment exists to provide the highest quality sports and entertainment experience to its guests and to have a positive impact on the community. The Spurs Sports & Entertainment ownership group is led by chairman Peter J. Holt and CEO R.C. Buford.

We are Spurs Give – the official 501c3 nonprofit organization of Spurs Sports and Entertainment. Since our founding in 1988, we have invested $28 million in our community. Stacked with South Texas’ top talents from stunters and b-boys to tumblers and dancers, the Spurs Hype Squad is redefining “home-court advantage." Freestyle routines. On-court contests. You name it, we bring it. And when game night’s over, you can find us on the streets—spreading that same energy to the city we rep through community outreach and corporate appearances. ‘Cause when it comes to S.A, there’s never such a thing as too much Hype.

Dr. Paula Johnson

Chief Equity and Diversity, Judson ISD


Dr. Paula Johnson’s 28 years of service in education centers on improving equitable student outcomes and success opportunities for all students. She has served Texas public school systems as a high school teacher, department chair, academic coach, and district curriculum specialist in mathematics. Dr. Johnson continued developing her expertise as a senior education associate for the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA) here in San Antonio. For many years, Dr. Johnson proudly served as director of the IDRA EAC-South, a federally-funded Equity Assistance Center serving district and state education agencies across 12 Southern states. She led efforts to build bridges among administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members. She believes that all students deserve excellent instruction and a positive educational experience. In addition to her secondary teaching experience, she has held adjunct positions at The University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently an adjunct mathematics instructor at Prairie View A&M University.
